The Department of Zoology organised a Snake Rescue and Wildlife Awareness Programme at HKEs B. V. Bhoomaraddi College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Bidar, with the objective of creating awareness among students about snakes, their ecological importance, safe rescue practices, and wildlife conservation.

Shri Raj Shekhar, a professional snake rescuer and wildlife enthusiast, served as the Resource Person for the programmed. He provided an informative and engaging session on the identification of different snake species, their behaviour, habitats, and their important role in maintaining ecological balance. He also explained the precautions to be taken when a snake is encountered and highlighted the importance of avoiding unnecessary killing of snakes.

The session was chaired by Ms. Sneha Vidyasagar HOD Zoology who encouraged students to develop a responsible and scientific attitude towards wildlife. The programme also emphasised the need for public awareness regarding safe snake rescue and coexistence with wildlife.

Dr. Pooja Suryawanshi HOD Botany graced the programme as the Chief Guest. In her address, she appreciated the Department of Zoology for organising the awareness programme and stressed the importance of protecting biodiversity and promoting environmental responsibility among students.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, by Miss Gayetri expressing gratitude to the resource person, chief guest, session chair, faculty members and students for their valuable contribution and active participation.

The programme was highly informative and helped students gain practical knowledge about snake rescue, wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting biodiversity.
