An Induction Programme titled “Aarambhotsava” was organized for the newly admitted First Semester students of B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. and B.C.A. on 19 August 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the AV Hall of B.V. Bhoomaraddi College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Bidar. The programme was organized with the objective of warmly welcoming the new students and familiarizing them with the college, its academic departments, student support facilities and campus activities.
The programme commenced with an invocation/prayer song rendered by Smt. Renuka Malli. Dr. Pooja Suryawanshi delivered the welcome address and extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries, faculty members and newly admitted students.
The lighting of the ceremonial lamp was performed by Dr. Rajinish S. Wali, Governing Council Member, HKE Society and Convener, BVB College Campus, Bidar, along with other dignitaries and faculty members. Dr. Rajinish S. Wali, as the Guest of Honour, addressed the gathering and motivated the students to make the best use of the opportunities available during their college life. He encouraged the students to develop academic excellence, discipline, confidence and a positive attitude towards their future.
An introduction to BVB College was given by Dr. Mallikarjun Kote, providing the new students with an overview of the institution, its academic environment and its various activities.
The different departments introduced themselves to the students. Dr. Samrat Payad introduced the Science Department, Dr. Sheelaveela Veerayya introduced the Arts Department, Dr. Laxmi Vishwanath introduced the Commerce Department, and Sri. Vikram Dhanure introduced the BCA Department. The introductions helped students understand the academic structure, courses and facilities offered by their respective departments.
An overview of the Student Support Cells was presented by Lt. Maruti Bhimanna, highlighting the various support systems and opportunities available to students for their academic, co-curricular and overall development.
The Presidential Remarks were delivered by Dr. Deepa Raga, Principal of B.V. Bhoomaraddi College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Bidar. In her address, she warmly welcomed the newly admitted students and congratulated them on beginning a new phase of their academic journey. She emphasized the importance of discipline, regular attendance, academic commitment, good conduct and active participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. She encouraged the students to make the best use of the facilities and opportunities provided by the college and to strive for overall personality development and excellence. Her inspiring words motivated the students to set clear goals and make their college life meaningful and successful.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sri. Basavaraj Biradar. Miss Nagarani Palam served as the programme anchor and coordinated the proceedings smoothly.
The programme was followed by refreshments and a campus tour, which provided the new students an opportunity to become familiar with the college campus and its facilities.
The induction programme successfully created a welcoming and positive atmosphere for the newly admitted students. It helped them understand the academic environment, departmental structure, student support facilities and campus culture, marking a meaningful beginning to their college journey.
